The first scene is splendidly calm. A dozen languid bodies, resting on the ground, inextricably mixed with each other.
Angelin Preljocaj offers with Gravity a subtle blend of classical and contemporary dance; a mixture that alone reflects the paradox of dance: vertigo, suspension. The play written for thirteen dancers plunges into the very matrix of the dance, at the very heart of the movement, with a passing score from Bach to Daft Punk, from Shostakovich to Ravel and his Bolero.
